Lapierre: Toyota was a better option
Nicolas Lapierre says he felt Toyota was a better option for his sportscar career than a potential Peugeot seat even before the French manufacturer withdrew from Le Mans racing. Lapierre won last year's Sebring 12 Hours in an ORECA-run Peugeot, and admitted that he had talks with Peugeot over joining its works team. But he was ultimately announced as part of the driving strength for Toyota's return to sportscars' top class.
